Interior Media played an integral role in the development of the renowned EcoManor by designing and integrating an innovative energy monitoring system. EcoManor is the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified residence in the Southeast. This historic home is also the first to utilize both solar and geothermal energy to power its daily energy use.
This ground breaking green technology integration has not gone unnoticed, as Electronic House Magazine honored Interior Media with its first ever Green Home of the Year Award in 2007.
Interior Media’s experience in integrating home entertainment, communications, lighting control, and climate control for residential properties made us the perfect partner for EcoManor. We were able to bring a "green technology" energy monitoring and management system to this landmark home by working with industry partners such as Crestron, Lucid Designs, and Synpros to incorporate an energy monitoring system that utilizes over 40 sensors throughout the home.
EcoManor is the first home to have such an extensive, real-time energy monitoring system - so the owners can actually alter their consumption. The system allows them to make changes individually or set the house to react automatically. The house can be set to Economy Mode, Entertainment Mode, or even Miser Mode.
The green technology implementation at EcoManor has been a great success that will hopefully increase awareness and lead to more "green" homes in the future.
